LACUNA
Lacuna has brought together several professional musicians from St Petersburg, and the repertoire is made up of traditional Irish melodies and songs, as well as compositions by contemporary Irish composers. The ensemble has appeared in Estonia, Belarus, many Russian cities, and the Petro-Festival and Irish Week festivals.
The members of Lacuna are Boris Rubekin † (Aquarium), who was taught to play the Irish flute by the globally recognised flutist Brian Finnegan; Dmitry Olegovich (accordion), who is the leader of the Orquestra Primavera Tango Band; Andrei Bayramov (the tradition Irish percussion instrument known as the Bodhran), who won the world title in Bodhran performance in 2010; and Yevgeniy Vikki (mandolin and Dadgad guitar). Brian Finnegan helped to produce the ensemble’s first album, Humours of Tula.
Lacuna’s performance will begin at 21:00. Paddy Whelan’s is found at Grēcinieku Street 4 in Old Rīga. There is no cover charge to enter the bar.
